Mayflies turn out to be very common in Malawi. They are even eaten:
"In Malawi, people make a paste, called kungu, out of mayflies (Caenis kungu) mixed with mosquitoes, which is formed into dried cakes" (from pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC... ).

At least 1,000 people are reported to have died in a landslide in Sudan, triggered by heavy rainfall. Tirsin in Central Darfur’s Amo District, was completely buried. There was just one survivor.

Unbelievable images but see halfway that you really have to think first about your safety when a disaster happens.
