My 'little' apple tree, which doesn't get enough sun on the lower branches, and has a canker with a long name I can't remember, is covered in apples.
Every year I cut a lot of diseased wood out and out just keeps on going.

They're talking about leprosy on BBCR4 Start The Week. We had a leper colony where I live, and these are two (of the original seven) leper fiends created in mediaeval times.

When I came here 11 years ago, it was taken by barge to a treatment plant. Now they just put it straight into the river.

A bridge over what's left of a canal built to transport stone to construct a train track. The canal barges were very narrow.
