1/ Here's my take on what's happening with DOGE.

I've got fed experience through contracting with Health & Human Safety, Head Start, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and DOD. I get brought in when people need to get shit done. Other people here have way more experience than me.
does anyone _really_ want any more opinions about DOGE and what it's doing and how from someone like me

Austin single-stair update: we have a clean five-story legalization, all the poison pills have been taken out! services.austintexas.gov/edims/docume...

We will be working hard to get this to six stories, but take a look at this from the public engagement summary. That's you! That's us! We did that!

On Saturday, batteries set a new record in ERCOT, supplying 9% of power on an evening w/ high thermal outages & low wind. Prices spiked to near the max for 5 minutes, 4,300 megawatts of storage surged onto the grid (and demand went down ~2,000 MW) & things went back to normal. (h/t @gridstatus.io

Seeing “P17” labeled on Republic Tower made me wonder… what’s the highest parking spot in Austin? With “parking podiums” all over the place, surely there’s somewhere you can drive even more than 16 ramps to park your car?

HEB appreciation post: my dad withdrew $100 from an HEB atm, and left it in there. Next time he went back to the store, he asked about it.

A customer had turned it in, and they had held onto it for someone to claim it.

This is the sort of thing that only happens in Japan and, apparently, HEB.

Why are there not hundreds of YouTube videos of songs with the word “wall” lazily substituted to “Walz?”
• To the Window, to Tim Walz
• Another Brick for Tim Walz
• Up Against the Walz, Redneck Mother

I proposed a SXSW panel on social applications of AI and LLMs. We'll talk about how we make these models accessible at both Wavelength and Logictry, and potentially a few other companies whose representatives might join the panel. Please give it a vote! panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote…
