Liz Truss’s mini budget was of course in September 2022, just before the massive drop in headroom in the November 2022 budget (which has continued).

Did it f**k us up that badly?
Late period Osborne: interest rates at zero and 50-80bn of headroom: and his priority was “don’t invest”.

What was the point of that speech from Rachel Reeves? A whole load of nothing

We’re at the point where mainstream politicians (if you can call Sarah Pochin that) now say stuff like this and we barely lift a collective eyebrow. It’s staggering how far we have slid in just a few years.
Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin, “It drives me mad seeing adverts full of black people, full of Asian people, full of anything other than white"

Followed by that time Sarah Pochin said, "My kids say: mum, you're such a moron" 👀

Great to see Plaid Cymru winning in the Caerphilly by-election. A clear victory for hope over hate.

Maybe, just maybe, the appetite for Reform isn’t a strong as we are being led to believe?
Plaid Cymru wins Caerphilly by-election as Labour loses seat for first time ever
Reform UK comes second in the race to represent Caerphilly in the Welsh Parliament - with Labour a distant third.

If Keir Starmer won’t even make a moral case against deporting our friends and neighbours, then what is the point of him?
What Do We Have To Lose
If Keir Starmer won’t even make a moral case against deporting our friends and neighbours, then what is the point of him? Plus: some natural borders; and the non-existence of grey, and other letters.

People Watching playing on repeat this morning 🔂
Sam Fender’s ‘People Watching’ is a grand return from one of the UK’s best storytellers
Driving, expansive and cinematic, 'People Watching' kicks off the road to Sam Fender's third album on very strong footing.

It seems we have pre-Musk Twitter back, if early impressions of this app are anything to go by!

I usually posted about politics on the other platform but there's enough of that in the world so I'll mainly post photos here instead.

Here's some shots of #Glasgow in the fog yesterday 📸
