some animated foliage tests. Godot lets you set up animated tiles but it's very basic. So instead I figured out a way to manually animate individual tiles on collision like a sicko

I made a game in a month for a game jam! It was my first project in Godot, it forced me to learn the engine very quickly, and I had a lot of fun. And @mellorinemusic.com provided an excellent original soundtrack recorded through an actual SNES! I'll link them below, let me know if you try it!
