I've said it before, and I'll say it again, what's "best" for children has never truly been about children being healthy or safe or validated, it's only ever been based on who shouts the loudest and/or who shouts first.

I remember most of these movies having a sense of temperature, like the sunlight in Lion King being hot. As I got older, I put it down to nostalgia, a sensory imagination, and in Toy Story's case, the animation aging, but seeing this video, no, the grain made all the difference.

Who knows? Maybe it'll join the For the Man Who Has Everything episode of Justice League Unlimited as the only other adaptation Alan Moore actually likes.

Also Buster Keaton slapstick and 90s alt-rock, why does that sound like how I'd make a Crash Bandicoot film?

Also Joel Silver straight up lied about Alan Moore liking the script, and regardless of whether you agree with Moore's overall opinions, this pretty much began his contentions with comic book movies since then.

I still like the film, Hugo Weaving was perfect casting as V, but it's one of those damning instances of why media literacy and political literacy are inseparable issues.

I'm umming and erring, but if it's bad, it won't ruin Sherlock Jr or R.E.M. for me.

Still salty about OBAA though.

The comic portrayed V as more psychopathic and manipulative, not unlike Rorschach from Watchmen. Also the film is largely responsible for cementing the myth of Guy Fawkes as a revolutionary hero when he wanted the Catholic Church in power, one of the many things Alan Moore hated about the film!

Maybe it'll lean closer to the comic which had a more nuanced examination of political and revolutionary violence, based mostly on Alan Moore's worries and experiences of anti-fascist groups seeming too quick to resort to it.
