So my local looks like it's been passed over for One Battle After Another, but we're getting the Silents Synced feature for Sherlock, Jr. x R.E.M. in the New Year. 1920s silent films crossed with 90s alt-rock, which seems arguably, if not, OBJECTIVELY more niche!

Ah, at this point, why not?!?

Growing up were there any moments in movies that traumatized you? 😬

Again, I watched Watership Down when I was probably WAY too young! I knew it was sad and scary going in, I thought after The Lion King and The Land Before Time, I could handle it.

I was not ready!

I've believed that Stitch was made with Xenomorph and Predator DNA before Disney owned them.

I saw #Coherence over October, very ominous and mind-bending, the fact that it was made on a small budget manages to make it even more nerve racking, like it could happen to anyone.

Just finished CinenaWins' 2-parter on TRON: Legacy, and I didn't realise Kevin Flynn and CLU are creating the Games Arena before the ISOs arrive. When you remember what Games meant for Programs in the first film, it's a good visual suggestion that Flynn's obsession was going down a dark path.

The Jungle Book (2016)

I've grown to have more love for the '67 film since then, but I appreciate how it carefully took elements of that movie and the Kipling book, whilst feeling largely unique. It also feels embarrassing that in nearly 10 years, THIS is as good as the remakes have gotten.

In spite of his childlike demeanor, Pooh can actually be thoughtful, introspective, and capable of learning when it really matters, he just struggles with communicating it most of the time, which, at least for me, is often how autism feels. (2/2)

I think Pooh's Grand Adventure consistently translates Winnie the Pooh's personality from the book the best, specifically the arc of trying to pass Christopher Robin's words of being braver than he believes, stronger than he seems, and smarter than he thinks on to Piglet, Tigger, and Rabbit. (1/2)

Surprisingly One Battle After Another didn't come to my local last week, and doesn't look like it's happening this week either. My theory is the near 3 hour runtime is hard to accommodate with other releases, and, best case scenario, it might manage one week like EEAAO did.
