Like always, there's a handful that sell well, and most don't sell double digit numbers (or even 1 copy). We'll try out most #1 issues, but are usually down to 0 or subs only by #2 on most indie comics. It's rough.
I've been hearing from a lot of creators of late that the non-licensed space for comics has been painful to operate in, and today on SKTCHD, I finally wrote about it with insight from a bevy of creators.

It's a high time for the direct market, but non-licensed comics — i.e. creator-owned + other original comics — are going through a "wildly unpredictable" period.

Watching Pluribus reminds me to pitch someone a Black Mirror-like show where it's nothing but one-off episodes of the world ending. Everything falling apart is always my favorite part of end of the world movies/shows. I don't want to to see how they get through it, I just love the chaos.
