With everything happening right now in LA with the ICE raids, the protests, and the sending of National Gaurds, this poem that I wrote just days after Pumpkin Spice’s inauguration feels like it needs another posting. It is a revisting of Martin Niemoller’s prolific poem “First They Came.”

The crumbling of a nation does not happen overnight. It happens slowly. Its an accumulation of actions and compliance. It is not only the speeches from stages, but the silences of the every day person. It will not happen overnight. But each night brings the day closer.
