PRISCILLA is a restrained and respectful but largely inert affair that can lose its subject in the details of her context. My review:
Review: There’s an emptiness to 'Priscilla' that needs real character - AZ Big Media
There’s an emptiness to Priscilla that needs real character. Rarely does a film so delicate and restrained leave me wanting for so much bluster.

KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON finds Scorsese looking inward for historical reckoning and outward for spiritual transcendence.

My review of THE CREATOR, an admirable misfire:
Review: 'The Creator' thuds from its rare heights - AZ Big Media
The Creator begs the moral question: If AI decide to nuke Los Angeles, what does that say about the species they’re modeled after?

Ok, update.

I haven’t been on the movie grind lately because I’ve been really down on my film criticism. It’s been hard for me to separate watching a movie from desperately trying to measure up to the combined knowledge and eloquence of all the film writers I compare myself to.
