In 2019 after I was put on Medicare another doctor implanted a stimulator in my back to help (and it does) and currently I need the stimulator’s battery replaced after six years. I no longer work, which is a drag, but I do a lot of walking now and hang out with our two dogs daily.

As for my condition, I was in a head-on collision with a semi in 2016 due to another’s distracted driving. Shouldn’t have survived but did. My pelvis folded in and broke in three areas. My femoral artery was severed, part of my intestines were removed, multiple TBIs, developed foot-drop, etc.

I would think we suffer more here. I was in a terrible accident 9 years ago and I suffer from one of the worst chronic pain conditions. Had I not been been placed on disability and got Medicare, I’d have never had a neuro stimulator put in my back to help with the pain. No insurance would cover it.
