When the rail cars bearing the entire Bellevue Nikkei farming community pulled out of Kirkland on May 20, 1942, their early crops were nearing harvest and the midsummer crops were in the ground. Almost none of them ever fed anyone. 1/34
So important to get this history out to Eastsiders!
