@everyheron.bsky.social just seen 8-10 herons on the bank of River Eden north of Warwick Bridge, Cumbria. I failed to get a photo as driving over the bridge. But is it the early spring meeting time for Cumbrian herons? And what is the collective noun for herons?

Into the Vortex of Liminality.

Superb.
This moment absolutely floored me as the great blue heron took off against a backdrop that looks like a vortex, thanks to the water reflection.

Good to see Munira Wilson (LibDem education spokesperson) on BBC Breakfast this morning.

Wilson talked a lot of sense about the grooming scandal and the need to implement the existing recommendations from the previous national inquiry and not waste time on a second inquiry.

More of this please.

Today I raised the issue of access to local mental health services.

Constituents have shared stories of being sent as far as Newcastle or Manchester for inpatient beds - miles away from their families and support networks.

I’ll keep campaigning for better access to local mental health services.

Great to see a 2ha plot of wild bird cover crop locally, seeded with millet, linseed, mustard, sunflower and kale. Packed with birds: 230 Linnet, 170 Chaffinch, 30 Greenfinch & 2 Reed Bunt, all feeding on the array of seeds, showing how valuable these cover crops can be to farmland birds. #UKBirding

Huge thanks for the cards, flowers, messages & kindness I received for my MBE. I know many friends are not fans of the honours system, appreciate them side stepping the debate & still supporting me. For good balance I celebrated by donating to people in food poverty in Barrow

This is a small, very carefully made and repeatedly resharpened flint knife made a Neanderthal person around 50,000 years ago.
It was discarded on the south coast of Jersey, carried far as an important part of their personal equipment.
Now cared for by @jerseyheritage
