I've recently watched the 2021 Exploring Northern Ireland with the DG's redoubtable Sister Michael for free on tubi. Lots of beautiful places and a restful distraction from current US reality.

My pantry was mad today. Lots of people. Staff a bit stressed and not always behaving well. New volunteers, mostly from the furloughed population, who need training and are stressed themselves. So everybody needs money and food, but we also need patience.

It's super important. And ask around at other kinds of institutions or businesses. In my town there is a branch public library and a used bookstore where supplies are collected (hygiene stuff, socks, whatever) and made available to the unhoused neighbors in their areas.

And don't forget that some food banks can buy 4x the food per dollar, so a donation of money really packs a punch.

Albuquerque very much needs to be on your book/ speaking tour since the NYT just portrayed it as a shithole overrun by axe murderers and a place that can only benefit from the forced commitment of the immiserated.
