I teach a variation of ac method but use a grid which I think makes it less procedural and more logical:

It seems to be able to work out nCr for negatives and fractions. How? Presumably by using (n(n-1))/2! etc? But it seems wrong to use the nCr notation?

In #MathsToday I gave my y10 son the same hw I give to my y11s. He did this (xx1 + yy1 = r^2 for eqn of tangent) which I have never seen before, but he learnt it from a friend doing AddMaths. We've just proved it. He's taught me something!

#ALevelMaths help please. Parametrics: I get very similar but not identical answer to Solutionbank (mine contains a negative) and I don't know why as I used a different method. Something to do with the domain? Thanks
