Tracking military traffic to/from Kaliningrad, Russia via ATC comms.

Tracking data here https://pastebin.com/raw/XyvXpnmK
Caught up with a few days of backlog traffic. To mention a few more civil Il-76 visits. The Il-20M SIGINT aircraft left home on Friday the 28:th and has not been seen this week.

A civil An-26B (LTS9601/RA-26130) visited from the company "Letnye Proverki I Sistemy" for airport calibration flights.

Is this what the Russian "Black Pearl" Tu-134 UBL (RF-12041) has been doing? Escorting new assets to Kaliningrad?
November 21, 2025 at 9:40 PM
Hmm, another Il-20M SIGINT aircraft arrived today around 11:00UTC.

Usually there are only one arrival per week but the one who came Monday could have left. (They arrive via civil ATC but mostly leave outside, therefor hard to know departure of the Il-20:s)

Il-20M SIGINT aircraft arrived today at around 09:00UTC to Kaliningrad. Happy hunting to all QRA:s this week! Be safe!

Updates since last post in green.

So we had more visits from civilian Il-76:s. In total three so far RA-76951, RA-76834 and RA-76846

Civilian Il-76 visits are five in total. Two in February and the last week three.

These are trackable on FR24 as they all have ADS-B-transponder.

The An-124 seen from high above at Chkalovsk airbase at 10:07 UTC today.

(Thanks to @avivector.com)

Regarding the An-124 yesterday. It came and left in close proximity with another aircraft, RA-76951.A civilian Il-76. They arrived within 30 minutes of each other, and left today.

According to the flight plan, the Il-76 will soon arrive in Urumqi, China. Could it be the same for the An-124?
November 6, 2025 at 10:10 PM
An-124 (RF-82011) visiting today.

Since last update two arrivals from the "Black Pearl" RF-12041 (Tu-134-UB-L). That makes 4 visits in total in the last 30 days, and not previously seen.

Just a bit of a quirk, no arrivals or departures at all Monday and Tuesday. Not sure why.

The Il-78 "Midas" tanker that crossed into Lithuanian airspace on October 23:rd during AAR training, left Kaliningrad today at around 16:00UTC. The individual was RF-94289.

Updates since last post in green.

And because i wrote yesterday that no Il-20M SIGINT was seen last week, one arrived around 07:30 UTC today.

"First visit" by RA-76599 (Il-76MD)

As a side note, how common is it with 400 arrivals and 9 months of data to have three or more arrivals with the same aircraft in the same 7 day period?
October 14, 2025 at 8:48 PM
A bit of confirmation bias perhaps but there is an Il-76 that has done three visits in the same timespan as the An-124. Neither has been seen before (logging started in February)
October 14, 2025 at 8:48 PM
The SIGINT aircraft Il-20M that arrived on the 7:th left for mainland Russia around 09:30 UTC.

The An-124 that arrived yesterday departed a bit after 06:00 UTC.
October 14, 2025 at 8:48 PM
Is traffic picking up to/from Kaliningrad?

Four visits by the huge An-124:s in the last two weeks, with three visits the last three days.

First visits (in my book) from RA-73025 (Airbus A319-115), RF-86902 (Il-76MD), RA-82030 (An-124-100), RF-78794 (Il-76MD)
October 13, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Rare guest visiting Kaliningrad today, RF-12041 a Tu-134UB-L landed around 16:00 UTC. The Tu-134-UB-L is a trainer for Tu-160 and Tu-22M3 pilots.

Attached is also all other traffic to/from Kaliningrad, Russia since my last post.

Update on the military traffic to/from Kaliningrad, Russia. It has been a while since the last update so the list is a bit longer. But all traffic has been accounted for.
October 2, 2025 at 7:34 PM
Hmm... 🤔 not sure what to make of an An-72 (callsign 61115) today.

At the same time as we seem to have a bunch of Mig-31/Su-30:s in the area (around 08:00 UTC) 61115 did a turnaround "according to flight plan".
September 26, 2025 at 10:14 PM
Military aircraft movements to/from Kaliningrad, Russia for the last week that are mostly not trackable on flight-trackers.

To note, Il-20M arrived this evening. Two "first visits" (in my logging) by RF-78661 and RF-76745, both Il-76:s. An-72:s working hard.
