I'm not a crafter, but would a split bb-style pewter fishing weight work?

I'm a professional illustrator (mostly 3d) but an amateur mapmaker -- I'd love to make more TTRPG maps. These are the most relevant examples in my portfolio. (I have a few fantasy battlemaps that I can also share if you like, but I wanted to follow instructions as closely as I could for this post).
