...or Queen Of Time, but it's Amorphis, and that means it's pretty damn good.

...about Borderland is going to be largely influenced on how you feel about modern Amorphis, as it doesn't really offer anything new to the formula, but I'm a fan of the band's output, and Borderland is solid. It doesn't quite reach the highs of some of their recent albums like Under The Red Cloud..

Not specifically, but the parallels are uncanny.

That's fair. Veil was the album that got me started on the band, so it's got a special place in my heart. All three of those albums are unfuckwithable as far as I'm concerned. I really hope they bounce back whenever they release a new album.

At least the riffs on Veil are huge and memorable. According to Last fm I listened to Epigone ten times and the only part of it I remember is the 'Tabula rasa' and 'Drown in the wellspring' parts of Passenger. And it makes me incredibly sad.

It feels like they were going for something specific and different on this album instead of just remaking Veil (which was a pretty big success and got them a lot of attention). Unfortunately, whatever it was that they were going for wasn't very good.

It fascinates me that with everything that humanity has learned about the universe and life in general that a significant portion still believe in some form of mythology. I know most of it is just efforts to contextualize what they don't understand, but it's still kind funny.

Wilderun are fucking incredible. I have a soft spot for Veil because it's the first Wilderun album I Heard, and because the Scentless Core suite with Far From Where Dreams Unfurl is so goddamn epic, but Sleep is pretty much perfect.

I really wanted Epigone to be good because of how good their other albums are, but outside of Passenger and part of one of the Distraction tracks, it really just didn't hit for me. And that made me very sad.

Also, holy shit I didn't know AMG was on Bluesky.

I'm sure once Gene figured out that he could probably get money out of this he was all in.

... and it does a pretty decent job ultimately. It's not quite as good as the album that it's paying homage to, but I don't think ‘isn't quite as good as one of the greatest albums of all time’ is too harsh a criticism.

...such as the title track, ‘Cat Guy’, and ‘God Of Avarice’. Plenty of older punk bands have slowed down and gone in a more rock direction in their later years, but Propagandhi have managed to keep it fresh even so.

Dropkick Murphys, on the other hand, are still putting out the same kind of...

...realized that the political climate after the election really called for some pissed-off punk. At Peace is, admittedly, not so much a punk album, although it's still got all of Propagandhi’s unique technicality and wry, occasionally humorous lyrics, but it's also got some truly killer songs...
