It's possible this is just a skill issue thing, but if there's any advice out there as to a way to implement this kind of effect in godot without assigning a bone to every vertex - it's alluded me

Godot's 2d skeletal animation is pretty barebones from my experience

In particular it doesn't seem to have support for blendshapes which makes the kinds of effects you see in Live2D significantly more complicated to implement

Like the most reasonable complaints I've heard are not liking the prevalence of gauntlets (which is valid but completely personal preference), and taking umbrage with the game's use of contact damage (also valid, but a sin the original Hollowknight was equally guilty of)

I'm also pretty sensitive to having my time wasted by games and I haven't really felt Silksong was any worse than Hollowknight in that regard either (if anything the faster movement makes Silksong feel better in this regard)

You won't ever catch me tell anyone to "git gud", but having played both Hollowknight and Silksong, Silksong doesn't feel considerably harder and it has yet to hit me with an encounter sufficiently frustrating that I just put the game down like the OG Hollowknight did
