A lot of questionable reprints out there these days but this decidedly is not one of them. They really did right by the masters here! 2024 Analogue Productions AAA reprint of Chico Freeman's "Spirit Sensitive"

Visited MONO SPACE in PDX today, a new hifi listening space/gallery. Some excellent selections from the inimitable #KMHD host Bryson Wallace on a formidable OJAS based system drawing heavily from historical Altec gear. A lot to like here, will be interesting to see how this evolves!

Visited MONO SPACE in PDX today, a new hifi listening space/gallery. Some excellent selections from the inimitable #KMHD host Bryson Wallace on a formidable OJAS based system drawing heavily from historical Altec gear. A lot to like here, will be interesting to see how this evolves!
Whipped up a batch of pumpkin spice muffins... a dense, but radiant muffin, of my own design... and couldn't quite put my finger on what was missing, till it hit me: why not poooooot forth a quarter ounce green rosetta at the summit?

I'm not sure who's putting out these newer Muse reprints but, man, this is actually better sounding than many of my originals. Great value! #vinyl #hifi #DomUmRomao

Haven’t had my McLaren 602 pre in the living room system before… now that I have the universal de-rumbler box in front of the amp I’m free to experiment. This thing is a real sleeper, just a fantastic phono stage.

“Flute-In” by the inimitable Bobbi Humphrey… a great album but the Dick Griffin composition “Sad Bag” is a real favorite!

If the SL-1200 is the “Wheels of Steel”, then they ought to call the Thorens TD-124 “Old Ironsides”. Hard to argue with a ten pound cast iron platter! #vintagehifi

What’s your unpopular vinyl or hifi opinion? I’ve been wrong about plenty in this hobby but the hill I’ll die on is that these Blue Note DMMs are actually great sounding pressings most of the time… affordable, and typically in great shape too. #vinyl #hifi #vacuumtubes

...or, in my front room, I can stick the Modulus in and have nose-to-tail triode operation with the ST-70 putting out 16 W a side in triode mode. Which sounds even more gorgeous than I had thought possible.

Anyway, I can now run any one of three preamps into just shy of 1 kW of class AB amplifiers in my front room, either straight into the line level crossover, or through the DB-5 tone control...
