Fun how "there will be no wars under his leadership!" turns into "well these wars have kinda always been going on so...can only do so much!" so very quickly.

Mad that I didn't sleep in again. Hey body, didn't you get the memo about this being a vacation? Unbelievable. The disrespect.

I am just now realizing how integral Kermit was to me in my formative years. Also that I watched the Muppet Movie A LOT more than I thought.

I will keep watching twister or twisters once a week until the dark void of anger caused by work is cast away.

The forecast, data, model development, science, communication coordination and all the work that occurs because of NOAA’s activities not only saves lives but the work of NOAA also impacts nearly every sector of the economy. Life, business, & economic decisions can be made because NOAA exists.

NOAA is an absolute mess, and it’ll be worse tomorrow. Please help us. There have already been over 1,000 terminations. It’s not just layoffs—Elon Musk and his staffers are trying to completely dismantle us. Today, there were tons of firings, and more are coming tomorrow.

This is a really nice, simple distillation of the vital role NOAA and the NWS play and how private companies cannot replace what they do.

Heartbreaking news… Tonight, many of our friends were let go, and tomorrow, even more will follow. Word is that all probationary employees at NPS will be let go. 😭

One time when I was in elementary school... myself and some other "gifted and talented" kids were rounded up, put in a room, showed the horrors of an oil spill on wildlife, and asked us to come up with large scale plan to clean up a real world happening now oil spill.

At best, I was 8.

I worked up the courage to ask (redacted) about what they thought about this and they hit me with "omg...you really think it was a nazi thing? What about the democrats that have done it too?" And my heart just sunk. But maybe this will help someone else...

Folks, I know it’s hard to keep up with all the hubbub about POTUS and his executive orders/legislation.

Here’s a POTUS tracker that streamlines it into one link.

I, like so many bright eyed young people, wanted to be a journalist. Then I sucked at it because the articles I was assigned could only be published in the opinion section.

I have a nasty habit of, after spending time finally making a decision and purchasing something, to Google "is Company Y product good reddit" and read the most harrowing story on how the piece of furniture I bought will ruin my marriage.
