Proud X exile. Former journalist and mayor obsessed with Minneapolis, Twins, local beer, snow and “making Orwell fiction again” (I stole that line)
Thinking back through Fraser, Hofstede, Naftalin, HHH…..and I think the answer is “not since the DFL merger”
History note: Fateh is the first Minneapolis DFLer endorsed for mayor since Rybak in 2009, but Rybak was all but unopposed that year. Sincerely wondering when the last time a challenger was endorsed over an incumbent (IIRC Rybak denied Sayles Belton in ‘01 but did not win).

No wonder Minneapolis still loves her
Mary Tyler Moore accidentally nailed a perfect trick shot in *The Dick Van Dyke Show* (1962)—on the FIRST take.

It was supposed to be done by a pro, but she shocked everyone and pulled it off herself. Absolute legend. 🎱✨

Since so much of the misinformation these days is generated or filtered by Russia, we should understand the tactics.

You know things aren't going well for the Russian economy when the Ruble is even collapsing against the currency of the country on which they are waging genocidal war.

What if a cynical leader made shockingly unqualified hot button cabinet nominations to set off mass symbolic resignations—so, in turn, those vacant positions could be filled by people who will blindly obey? Seems patriotism would mean: Take the much harder road to stay and fight for what’s right

In the early days of social media I saw hope it could democratize knowledge and broaden the voices we hear. Mostly the opposite has been true. I hold out hope Bluesky —esp a biz model that’s harder for megalomaniacs to control—can show us a glimmer of what is possible. Send me ideas of who to follow
