I could put an armed soldier or police in front of every house and every apt door, with instructions to kill people for the slightest infraction, and I could significantly "cut down on crime." But that wouldn't be "solving crime." It would replace one struggle with a much worse and stifling one.

What's frustrating for me is the field of study I'm in requires APA. I much prefer the way Chicago style looks and operates.

Consequently, immigration restriction requires a level of police militarization and weaponization at an even more dystopian scale than the drug war. It is hard to imagine a bigger threat to a free society other than literal a literal comprehensively centrally planned command economy.
