Marty Moose: First Class Mischief by Claire Powell is going to be a BIG hit here. A chapter book for younger readers, it’s lively, exciting and adorably absurd. Wonderful!

Unsurprisingly a very popular picture book for us this year is Flip Flap Build Rockets! Written by Stuart Atkinson and Ben Newman. It looks amazing and it’s full with facts and fun, a great gift for curious minds this Christmas rocketshipbookshop.co.uk/product/flip...

Here’s a picture book that I’m a big fan of: Tove and the Island with No Address by Lauren Soloy, which imagines a young Tove Jansson on a windswept adventure. Beautiful!

Yikes, due to the weather we are unsurprisingly quiet today, a bit nerve wracking for small businesses on a Saturday. So, here’s a look at our current bestsellers and a selection of books we also love. All available here at the shop and online

A customer very kindly bought me an old bookmark from when Everyman became The Salisbury Bookshop back in the ‘90’s in this building. Oh, to have run a bookshop before Bezos came along, fax machines and all

One of my 2024 highlights is the truly beautiful Mr Lepron’s Mystery Soup by Giovanna Zoboli & Mariachiara Di Giorgio, translated by Denise Muir. Every single page is a delight and the story is unique, sometimes surreal and hilarious. Not to be missed!

Our little shop has a long history. From being a distillery, to becoming City Chambers, almost a sweet shop in the 1920’s, the much loved Everyman Bookshop from the 70’s - 90’s. It was the Moloko Vodka bar after that & a series of bars until we turned it back to books in 2020. I love this old place!

BIG 2024 Highlight for us! Dungeon Runners by the brilliant team of @kieranlarwood & Joe Todd-Stanton. Outside of school orders/events, it’s our bestseller this year & children LOVE it. It’s been popular with both developing readers & older children looking for a fun read & I think it’s fantastic!

Another 2024 highlight and it’s my favourite teen read this year. King of Dead Things by Nevin Holness (cover: Hanson Akatti). A London based fantasy adventure, steeped in West Indian mythology. Loved the main characters, especially Malcolm and Sunny, it’s exciting, unpredictable & so entertaining!
