i codified the conversation in my vtm-like with a simple "player describes best possible result, gm describes worst, roll a d6 and judge based on where it lands on the established spectrum". don't know if it's osr or story but it works!

i do think some cr fans have a (somewhat unearned) reputation of fostering whatever this drawing is supposed to represent. somewhat unearned, because it's mainly about how the community conducts itself in this extremely good-vibes-only way, not the ap itself.

meeting at a tavern (or other similar location) is one of my favorite ways of starting games because it gives my players time to ease into new characters and explore a piece of the world in a safe-ish location. also great for quest hooks, obviously.

haven't listened to taz but something like draw steel for the soldiers, osr/fitd for the seekers and pbta/larp for the schemers would be really interesting
