A very small voice inside her whispered that her attitude was going to get her killed. A voice she didn’t listen to. Lianna had never met a man she couldn’t sway. Slowly, emphasizing the words, her breath hitting his face with each syllable, “Take it then.” He flinched, ever so slightly, eyes flickering to the side. It was just a moment, a quick movement of indecision, but she caught it.

To beat a dead horse: I started drawing on legal pads I stole from my dad’s desk and a shitty # 2 pencil I dug out of my backpack. I practiced and built up my skill with basic tools. The last figure study was done with conte crayon and newsprint, $20 tops. Art is inherently accessible. #humanartist
Amateur drawing of sailor Uranus I drew on a legal pad when I was 7 or 8 years old. Pencil on paper Slightly better but still amateur face study of a woman wearing a hat. Some contour and some shading and some understanding of form but still rudimentary. I was probably 20 when I did this. Pencil on paper. Figure study of a nude model. Much more understanding of form and 3d space. Clear understanding contour and rendering. Conte crayon on newsprint. I was actively working to better my art between this and the last one. So the jump from that last one to this was only a year. I would go to a local art school and pay 10 bucks to sit on a live model session. I brought my own supplies. This was in Chicago. There’s a similar program where I live today in a very small town in a different state. This kind of thing exists all over.
