@schumer.senate.gov if you and the Democrats cave to the Republicans on their latest healthcare payment scheme, you will have proven to the American people that you are unworthy of leadership and cannot be trusted with governing either.

So Hakeem Jefferies praises Eric Adams when Adams finally realizes his reelection hopes are futile. Jefferies says he'll have more to say soon about the NYC mayoral race. I suspect the best we can hope for is neutrality, but I wouldn't be surprised if he endorses Cuomo. Jefferies has to go!

Tried to send an email to my Republican representative Barry Loudermilk about the Trump administration's attacks on free speech and other freedoms. The email link on his House page doesn't work - specifically the "Captcha" function required to send the email. Convenient?

Hope, a form of faith, is essential to human life; a belief that, somehow, tomorrow will be better than today. without hope, there is no reason to continue. But hope, by itself, is insufficient. As the Bible reminds us (James 2:14), without action hope is just a dream. We must do the work as well.

The death of Charlie Kirk is senseless and tragic. But let us not forget that he is a victim of the culture of intolerance that infects America today, a culture he helped create and support. In the end that culture of intolerance consumed him. I mourn for his family, and especially for his children.

America was born in violence, expanded by violence, and is led by a violent ideology and politics. Only when we acknowledge that can we have a reasonable and responsible conversation about mass shootings and what we as a society are going to do about it

In order to vote one's conscience, one must first have a conscience that is consistently on display and known to those around you. Frequent expressions of concern supported by infrequent votes of conscience is not sufficient evidence of a conscience.

The Supreme Court ruled on nation-wide injunctions but did not rule on the underlying issue of birthright citizenship. Why? Because they would have to ignore clear precedent and the plain language of the 14th Amendment to give Trump what he wants. And that will come back to haunt them.

I've noticed that the responses I've been getting from my MAGA Congresscritter lately have been more frantic and unhinged trying to defend the indefensible. They know they are losing control of the narrative. We are winning, and we need to keep up the fight.

Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff and resident xenophobe, Stephen Miller has declared that the situation in Los Angeles is a "fight to save civilization." I suspect he is right. I also think he is on the wrong side of that fight.

The horrific incident in Boulder, Colorado should rightly be condemned. But to do so without condemning what is happening in Gaza and elsewhere is to show moral ambivalence. Playing the victim card without recognizing that you are not the only victim brings your own victimhood into question.

We surrender our humanity when we decide that citizens of a nation can be held responsible for the actions of their government. Israeli citizens are not responsible for the actions of their government. Palestinians are not responsible for the actions of Hamas. Same applies to Americans.

Whatever you may think of Joe Biden, he needs and deserves our prayers. Those who would wish him or anyone else ill health have surrendered their humanity in the pursuit of anger and hatred that will destroy them before it harms anyone else.

Apparently, some Democrats are concerned that all this emphasis on Trump's deportations to El Salvador will be a problem because the American people don't care about "due process." Judging by the turnout for the Hands Off demonstrations, American DO care about due process. So why the cowering?

Amazing to watch Republican members of congress explaining that the stuff released by The Atlantic this morning is not classified war plans, and no issue exists. If the Democrats held the White House, these same Republicans would be calling for impeachments and criminal trials.

President Trump is trying to stop wars in the Middle East and Ukraine by siding with Israel and Russia. Conflicts may end, but likely end any hope for independent Palestine and Ukraine. That alone should be enough to ensure Trump doesn't get the Nobel Peace Prize he is rumored to desperately want.

it is becoming more apparent that the need to reform our current national Democratic party to stem the damage being done by the Trump administration will not be accomplished quickly, if at all. But we can begin today to build a new grass roots Democratic party, and it is imperative that we do so.

Trump may not actually be a Russian asset. We should accept that possibility. But if he is not a Russian asset, he certainly is working very hard on his audition to become a Russian asset. In either case, Putin must be very pleased.
