Yes, I had two surgeries , one on each side of the brain. There are leads that go from the top of my skull (connected to the implant in my brain) down my neck and into my upper chest to connect to the battery—one on each side. My surgeries were in 2015, and I had my batteries replaced in 2023.

I have Essential Tremor, which is similar to Parkinson’s book effects a different part of the brain. I had the same surgery, called Deep Brain Stimulation, and it stopped my tremors. It’s not a cure but it treats the symptoms.
