Reality: Alendronic acid & risedronate are effective and widely recommended.

Do osteoporosis medicines cause thigh bones to break more easily?

Thigh bone fractures are a rare side effect. Risk from osteoporosis itself is much higher.

Think osteoporosis only affects older adults?
Truth: People under 50 can get osteoporosis, usually caused by another medical condition. Fractures in younger people are rare.
