I’m in the West, and I’m frustrated with the West haha

Federation works on an honour system, unfortunately. But decades of mismanagement has proven that doesn’t work . It’s always a tightrope for any federal government to walk; if they are too demanding the premiers cry that they are infringing on provincial jurisdiction. In the West, that’s a war cry.

I think my fear got the best of me yesterday.

Thanks for patiently talking with me and helping me to get better perspective. I mean it, I appreciate that very much.

No I didn’t. Thank you for this.

How embarrassing. My 2 provinces (home and current one I am living in) are the two highest. By far.

I don’t have a subscription to the GM nor do I intend to get one. I could’ve asked more questions before commenting though. Thank you for that explanation. And I will look for other sources on that one.✌🏻

This is where I should maybe have had the benefit of the article. I’m really sorry, I did not understand that connection.

OK, fair enough. Maybe I don’t know enough about the wider implications.

I just want current foreign interference questions given higher priority, because this is getting rather urgent. I want the people sitting in Parliament right now to clear themselves of doubts around foreign interference.

They emigrated here 80 years ago. If any of them are still alive, I’d be shocked.

Plus there weren’t 800, well over 700 of them were found to not have compelling evidence against them, or it was proven that they never came here.

We are talking about 20 people.

I think it’s fine to release the findings. But I just don’t understand the priority of doing it right now. We have so much more important things to pursue given foreign affairs around the world. Why has this come up all of a sudden? That would be my question to you. Who gains by bringing this up

Like I said, I’ve tried several times to read the article but the first few lines I saw seemed to be talking about Nazi war criminals from 80 years ago. Which is why I said we do not really need to rehash this, do we? We have current foreign interference threats that are much worse.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I thought I was. I said these people had been investigated decades ago and I don’t know why we would assign such a priority to it now. So much so that it be brought up in the House by the NDP. 40 years after the commission and 80 years after the war. What is the point?

Okey dokey. It was a public post. So I thought you invited comments. Sorry to bother you.

Won’t happen again.

That sounds absolutely delightful. How peaceful that would be.

Can’t read the article. However I’m not comfortable in rehashing this issue or the list of names. A quick internet search will tell you these people were already investigated a couple of times and found to be no threat. We shouldn’t keep harassing these folks.
