After looking at this Psion 5mx I went for a hoke for others. Kinda surprised me, were tucked away all over the place. Bottom left and bottom right were mine from new. I think the others were bought for parts or repair but were never looked at. I think I have a 3 somewhere also, with the wee screen?

Hi, thanks for replying! I agree, as repairing it is not going to be reliable. I tacked a piece of wire onto it, and tested continuity, but I think with the ribbon flexing in the hinge dislodged it, so not ideal. I’ll see what I can find out from that group and will let you know how I get on. Cheers

Anybody got any luck on repairing screen ribbons on a Psion 5mx? I know it’s niche but worth a shot! :) going to try and tack a piece of magnet wire onto it? Can’t hurt surely?

Imaging old drives using @bluescsi.com initiator mode. Works fantastically well. Really handy extra feature to an already brilliant device. Top job!

Stinky fishy cap change day on this Amiga. Got this one in early stage leakage, most so far are crusty but pads cleaned nicely. Made a good start so far but I think it’s another saved before it’s too late 👍

Offer still open to lend this for testing as I’m not using it currently. Also have been using this old hxc2001 for eons now. Not pretty where I have it but works fantastically well.

Hi, sorry it took a wee while to get back to you, been busy this last week or so. Took my gotek (ff firmware) out of the pc, moved jumper to S0, plugged it in and it worked fine with some *.st images on the stick. Either your one is faulty as suspected or something else is amiss.

Had me thinking there so nipped up for a look. Only thing I notice at first glance is that the the connector is flipped. Pin 1 is near the front of the case on the stock drive and near the back on the gotek? Ignore the jumpers, not used this in anything yet.

Flip side… just needs an audio jack that fits. There is also a case for it, but I need a few more parts first.
