Bad news: I wrote to the Museum of Maritime Pets in Maine to ask how cat poops and pee were handled on ships before litter was invented. They didn't know! But they're very curious, too, and want me to keep them updated. We can all make educated guesses but I want to see what actual records say.

This is such an important thread on long covid & ableism
Question for all of us to ponder: how do we balance hitting home the reality of a mass disabling event with the fact that the tactics to hit home are all based in a “loss” or “deficit” framing? Is it possible to make people see the seriousness of it without ableist framings?
This was a heartbreaking story to work on: New data from reveals the crushing burden of Long Covid in NZ.
