Why doesn’t Rachel Reeves just tax revenue from gambling? Every other advert I see is for a gambling website and the revenues must be huge. If they want to help to reduce gambling addiction then surely this would be a win-win? #budget2025

If there's one thing that can be said in favour of the Xenomorph - based on it's wikipedia picture - it has great posture.

They say that if you put a frog in a pan of cold water and gradually increase the temperature, the frog won’t notice, to the point where it will boil to death before even attempting to jump out. I don’t know if it's just an urban myth, but I feel like that proverbial frog.

Next time you’re in a lift, check the ceiling for an inspection hatch. You won’t find one. Hollywood has sold us a lie.

I just watched The Worst Person in the World. Why can't all films be that good? It always amazes me how international films are totally overlooked for best actor/actress academy awards. Not even a nomination.

Just watched a recording of Unspeakable hosted by @susiedent.com and Phil Wang. What a great and funny show! I never realised the word slut was so innocuous.

I wonder how Zuckerberg feels at finding out that the MAGAfauna trust Signal more than WhatsApp? I hope Meta’s share price takes a hit #Signalgate

A little reported and horrifying tactic by Russia against Ukraine. Interesting how Trump is inflamed by imaginary cases of dogs and cats going missing but seems totally fine with this.
Ukraine's missing children tracked down in Russia by digital sleuths
Investigators say they have found eight children, believed to have been abducted by Russia.

I recently finished Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky. Whilst I admired the detail of the book, and his talent for bringing vivid characters to life, I found the conversational dialogue jarringly unnatural and it was full of repetitive scenes that did little to aid the plot. 6/10 #BookSky

I received an e-mail from Sky about my broadband. "At Sky, we’re always striving to bring you a better experience." makes it sound like good news, right? "We wanted to let you know that we're putting the price up by £3 per month." I've only been with them since January. #openshitsandwich

Has anyone else ever questioned Cadbury’s claim that every bar contains a glass and a half of milk? To start with there is no measurement standard called a glass like there is a cup for measuring volumes. And secondly, does that mean a mini bar and a giant bar both have the same amount of milk in?

It would be great if Bluesky could come up with a way to block people from posting the same stuff other people have already posted as if they came up with it. I know, but I can dream can’t I?

I would like to see an episode of the Repair Shop where they pull back the velvet cloth to reveal a pile of broken parts followed by the statement, “we did our best but no one knew how to fix it. I’m afraid it’s fucked.”

Why is Apple’s Find My… so rubbish? If you go to their support community they blame it on network connectivity but that doesn’t explain how it knows my device’s location but thinks I’m somewhere else. It’s using my device to track my location FFS.

I just got called Rob by someone I haven’t seen for a while. They walked away before I could correct them. Now I will be faced with the dilemma of whether or not to spend the rest of my life pretending to be called Rob.

Why does Apple autocorrect Dick to Duck every time I write it? Surely people use the word dick about 1000 times more than the word duck.

I didn't realise my tea bag had split and so I'm straining the leaves through my teeth like a Blue Whale. Which leads me to wonder, could you make a tea version of chewing tobacco? It could be big (in the UK anyway).
