I live in Wales and today received my Join Us letter from Reform UK, complete with SAE which I posted back to them, immediately, empty. If every other person in Wales did this, Reform would spend over £1.5 million on postage. Not sorry. Join me Cymru.

This year’s #TreeByBike—our family’s 11th in a row—is made possible by Delft’s amazing network and @CargorooBike electric cargo bike sharing.

A critical reminder that it’s not a lack of carrying capacity that stops people from cycling in your city, it’s a lack of infrastructure.

So it looks like Rachel Reeves has *not* abolished or cut back the cycle to work scheme. Perhaps she has read the Treasury's own 2023 assessment of the scheme, which found that in terms of creating modal shift, and thus boosting public health, it is very, very effective.

Juries are not perfect.

Many of the worst miscarriages of justice have followed jury trials.

But the merit of juries is not so much the power they have, but the power they prevent others from having.

They mean a judge cannot just nod-along with prosecution evidence and give a guilty verdict.

It's 2029, and a Reform government has sworn in its first batch of politically appointed judges. Suddenly, the Labour Party remembers why jury trials mattered.

Friend of mine fell and broke his wrist while on holiday in New York last week. Had to have an x-ray and got bandaged up. His hospital bill was £7550. Just in case anyone was starting to buy into the current UK effort to privatise our healthcare and forgot how good we have it.

According to the FT, Rachel Reeves wants to cap the cycle to work scheme. This is lunacy, and represents a curb on what is effectively the UK's only active travel incentive.

The problem with bike-to-work is not that it’s so widely used, it’s that the benefit isn’t fairly distributed.

I agree that it can be used to by expensive toys, but price is a poor determinant of a bike’s utility. The most practical bike I’ve bought is by far the most expensive.

We are floating the removal of the ONLY tax break on cycles. (Yes, it’s imperfect, yes it misses out the chunk of population that don’t pay income tax).

We are definitely not going to restore the fuel tax on petrol to where it should be.

Remind me again why I voted for you?
