Like if I want to know "approximately what years might a building with this architecture have been built" that's being used as fodder in a novel -- that's good enough for me. Is something legal if I quote it or do I need to get permission? Hire a lawyer.

I don't mind using it for "research" ... aka stuff for a fiction novel where it doesn't really matter if I'm a little or even more than a little off. I'm highly unlikely to get fact checked. For real world things? Yeah... that's a very different ball game.
