Phew! Well that was quite the journey! I’ll try to edit the video of how I turned the donut piece I threw the other day into this vase, but for now I need to chill after nearly messing it up many times! 😅 Lots of lessons learned!!

More playing!
I threw these two bowl like pieces that I will join together once they’ve dried a little. I’ll then trim the piece, and will decide if I make it a large pebble like piece or add a neck to it and make it into a vase!decisions!!

Throwing a donut shaped piece to create a vase once it’s dried a bit. I threw a separate piece which I will cut and use the bottom section for a base and the top section for the neck of the vase.
(Excuse that this video is squished into a square cutting off the top!)

I’m loving the addition of the handle on this jug, giving it its finished shape. Now to decide what glaze design to finish it in! Any suggestions?

I like to experiment with carving on the surface of pieces sometimes. It adds another element to the pieces and leaves a nice textured feeling on the surfaces.

Hi. I’m Rosie, a potter based in South Queensferry in Scotland, on the outskirts of Edinburgh. I make stoneware pieces from my garden studio and absolutely love nothing better than getting my hands in clay and creating. Follow along to see what I get up to.
