Something I just found out I am writing for @thismagazine.bsky.social #neurodivergence #ADHD #Canada

Found a quote from my first book in a thesis on #Accessible architecture, and I am honestly quite happy to see it used in this context, mainly because the point is to teach people about sensory processing differences and #Neurodivergence.

It feels very fitting to be winding down the busyness I had early in the week of #DyspraxiaAwarenessWeek, with news that my editor wants me to review my manuscript one last time before it's sent to the production stage (copyediting, proofreading, then design and layout, followed by actual printing).

I also got a virtual speaking gig this afternoon, where I will be teaching a company called RailPen about #Dyspraxia. The image below highlights what it's all about:

It's day one of #DyspraxiaAwarenessWeek. See all who plan to attend my virtual event I'm doing for Awareness Week later today. Wore my Celebrate #Neurodiversity shirt to mark the occasion.

Still time to register for the event itself if you want to attend: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/dyspraxia-...

Nothing quite like hanging your own past published writing on the wall of your new apartment to tell your harsh inner critic “but I can write things people like though.”

My favourite reading nook right now, the one with all my book collection. #AmReading

I am currently preparing for a #Dyspraxia Awareness virtual speaking gig I am doing for a London-based workplace. This is not a public event, unfortunately, but I'm thrilled to have secured it anyway.

My next YouTube video will go live on Tuesday at 9 AM UK time. The video will offer my honest feedback & explanation of the Hidden Sunflower Lanyard program & what it takes to get something valuable out of it. Check out #dyspraxic Rosie Writes on YouTube if you're interested in watching.

So happy with the promising start to my YouTube Channel, which launched yesterday. See the lanyard around my neck for a bit of a clue as to what I will be talking about in the next video.

Really been enjoying this book by motorbike travel youtuber, Itchy Boots. I am a long term viewer of her channel and it was a joy to hear the full story of all those videos I have watched. Incredible woman with some really incredible stories of her adventures.

In case people have forgotten what #Toronto neighbourhood I was born in, I literally just bought a cool t-shirt that gives that fact away…

With the 1st of May being today, the countdown is on for when my book manuscript has to be submitted to the publisher for editorial review and feedback. #AmWriting #WIP

Got my first fidget spinner as swag at a conference I was at this week and it is basically one of my new favourite things. Finally get the hype and why it’s recommended so often to #Neurodivergent people like myself.

Day 2 of naidex: caught everything from a chat on inclusive language and the updates on the UK’s medically assisted dying bill to a podcast broadcast.
March 20, 2025 at 2:20 PM
Been a good day at #Naidex. Didn’t go to as many of the speeches as I thought I would, but basically feel like I have been chatting non-stop to people in the #Neurodivergence and #Disability communities alike, some which I hardly ever see in person. Also: great fidgets haul👇

It is #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek & I wanted to share a photo from my #Dyspraxia diagnosis era. I watched my parents work towards getting me the support I needed to thrive then, with no charities or resources & it's why I have given a damn about creating a better world for #Neurodivergent people

Printed out a draft of my manuscript (#WIP). Going to get my spouse to read and revise it & be the first ever reader.

My most non-negotiable value as a #Disabled creative. The only real exceptions I have these days are a select number of independent advocacy groups I help out because they're either friends from the ND community I have built relationships with or projects affiliated with my trustee work.

A timely text on #Disability justice in a strange time for politics in the western world, but perhaps even the globe: @thellpsx.bsky.social’s Care Work: Dreams of Disability Justice

I love books and reading. Most of what I have learned about the world has happened through reading. Attending the Marrakech Book Festival was a real treat. Although I have spent so much time in this city, that was my first taste of its literary bubble. Below is what I bought from the book fair.

An answer to the question: what do I do? I am also the author of Stumbling Through Space & Time: Living Life With #Dyspraxia. I am currently writing my second book, a guide to navigating university as a #dyspraxic student, for Bloomsbury Books. For more info, visit www.rosemaryrichings.com.

The latest issue of @dyspraxiamagazine.bsky.social just released. I am proud to be one of multiple #dyspraxia advocacy nominees featured in the magazine.

I like this ideal home concept. It's more achievable than narrow societal notions of independence. Also, I recommend The Future Is Disabled if you're interested in anything related to #Disability justice from the viewpoint of a #Disabled activist in the US disability justice bubble.

It was great being an invited to give a virtual talk on #Dyspraxia last night for an Irish toastmasters group making a genuine effort to be more inclusive towards #Neurodivergent members & guests. Had to stay up a bit late for it & still tired from my session but totally worth it🙂!
