Actual left wing politics like wealth redistribution, carceral abolition, UBI, nationalizing production, etc, aren't generally being discussed by Dems at a national level. You see some tax the rich but not a lot of capitalism is rotten at its core and needs stamped out and reparations sent.

Racism and homophobia has been a main European export for centuries.
What the average US pundit calls left wing is advocating for universal health care, strong unions, and more trains and not truly left wing politics. Those are usually non-starters for removing in many European countries.

Since 2016, people don't seem to understand what the primaries are. Picking whichever candidate that will run under that banner that best meets the changes you want to see. That is the point when the biggest changes can happen.

I just think it makes sense that countries that send silly or fun entries especially from a national selection, vote for silly and those that don't that, usually won't vote for it. People just look for different things in their Eurovision.

They just don't like silly or fun recently. Moustache was maybe the last song they sent that could be categorized as that and it tanked. Their one dip into weird or out there with Fulenn also failed hard (although that was my favorite song in that year).

And if one is boycotting, then one won't even be there to see them smile... This give off gross "smile pretty lady" vibes. Like gross old men throwing things at the wall when not being racist and not undercutting quality is so much easier. Also the whole economy is contracting due to tariffs...
