157 years ago, on the 9th of December 1868, the world's first traffic lights were installed outside the Palace of Westminster in London. It used semaphore arms during the day and green/red gas lamps at night. It had to be operated by a constable. It exploded on January 2nd 1869. #otd #history 🗃️

Anyway, I agree with the Greens that it is sick and disgusting that landlordism is taking place outside schools. Ban this sick filth, etc.

My friend's son was hit by a car whilst cycling yesterday outside Swindon. He is seriously injured. The car sped off and the police are looking for witnesses, particularly those with dashcams.

Please do share the article below if you're local to that area:

Apart from anything else, this really embodies the Playmobil approach to workforces that politicians often fall into — it’s all very well and good to laud “frontline” NHS workers but without backroom staff the entire service would actually collapse.
Hey everyone, here's the news, if you aren't a high earner, entrepreneur or a "skilled frontline worker" (whatever the fuck that means) the "Labour" Party says you aren't contributing, you're a taker!
This is so disgusting.

Gonna need a list of the MPs doing this because come on
when someone uses AI for speech writing it sticks out like a sore thumb.

especially among MPs in parliament.

"i rise to speak" oh do you? that's fucking obvious because you just stood up and addressed the speaker.

in 2015 "i rise to speak" was used in parliament 353 times.

in 2025 it's 1214.

I’m old enough to remember the strike that happened a whole year ago because companies like Netflix claimed they don’t have enough money to pay residuals to actors for their work. Netflix has $82 Billion to buy Warner Bros.
