Therapist and educator specializing in working with states often called "psychosis." Looking at how madness can be understood as a reaction to life events & often more like a revolution in the mind rather than an "illness."

Across studies, perceived racial, ethnic, and religious discrimination was linked with psychosis risk in both clinical and non-clinical populations.

Distressing mental images affect around 3 in 4 people with psychosis.

They can feel vivid, emotional, and overwhelming, yet are rarely addressed in therapy.

The iMAPS-2 trial tested a therapy focused on these images and their link to negative beliefs.

The program reduced self-harm, seclusion, and restraint. Now we have a better idea of how it was able to achieve that goal—and the barriers preventing it from being used more often.
