Das ist Ah­med Mo­ha­med Odo­waa. Er ist einer der beiden Männer, die den Täter von Aschaffenburg verfolgt haben, bis die Polizei ihn festnehmen konnte. Dafür bekam er Dankesschreiben, von Söder und vom Innenministerium.

Er muss Deutschland bis zum 8. Juli verlassen, sonst wird er abgeschoben.

ME/CFS wurde in der bis 2023 gültigen S3-Leitlinie „Funktionelle Körperbeschwerden“ als psychosomatisches Syndrom definiert. Demnach verursachen oder verschlimmern Betroffene ihre körperlichen Beschwerden u.a. durch dysfunktionale Gedanken, Vermeidungsverhalten, Dekonditionierung oder falscher Ursachenüberzeugungen [22]. Dementsprechend werden auch bei Long COVID psychosoziale Faktoren als verursachend und aufrechterhaltend angenommen [23]. Die der o.g. Leitlinie gemäße Behandlung zielt auf den Abbau fehlerhafter Krankheitsüberzeugung und die Steigerung der körperlichen Belastungsfähigkeit, empfohlen werden Psychotherapie, Psychopharmaka, Physio- und Bewegungstherapie sowie aktivierende Rehabilitation [22]. 72% der hier Befragten berichten von entsprechenden Behandlungen bzw. Behandlungsempfehlungen, insbesondere körperlicher Aktivierung. 56% geben an, dass sich ihr Gesundheitszustand infolge ärztlich veranlasster Untersuchungen oder Behandlungen verschlechtert hat.

Eine der beeindruckendsten Zahlen der Wahl in Deutschland ist für mich das Ausrinnen der FDP(!) zur AfD. 890.000 Wähler_innen sind von der (ohnehin schon kleinen) FDP zur AfD gewandert. Über diese Liberalismus-zu-Rechtsextremismus-Pipeline muss man mal ordentlich diskutieren.

Epistemicide is going on in the USA atm. Ressources, knowledge and access are destroyed with the primary goal of complete eradication of marginalized communities.

The term is related to the concept of epistemic injustice. In essence, trans people have historically been subject to a form of epistemicide: our stories, histories, testimonials, ways of life, all erased and buried to maintain the patriarchal myth of dichotomous, naturalized, immutable sex. We are then further marginalized through epistemic injustice, prevented from participating in the processes of knowledge-production, our testimonies devalued, our voices suppressed and our identities defined for us, not by us. The perception of us shaped by others, instead of ourselves. The conversation about us dominated by the voices of those who'd rather stamp us out, shouting over us constantly. If you're not accounting for this as a central mechanism animating transphobia, you're missing a lot of the picture.

Change it to “Community Outreach” & then keep on doing the same important work. When they outlaw Community Outreach rebrand it as “Strategic Partnerships,” rinse/repeat.

Implicit in a lot of anti-vaccination and anti-public health narratives like those of RFK Jr is a deep disgust/fear of disability; but also an unspoken hope that unchecked disease will "cull" the population of "weaker/less fit" people.
I really just can't see past a lot of that.

AI guardrails Last, the administration's proposal also tries to shore up guardrails for the use of AI in health care with edits to existing policy. The goal is to make sure Medicare Advantage insurers don't adopt flawed AI recommendations that deepen bias and discrimination or exacerbate existing inequities. As an example, the administration pointed to the use of AI to predict which patients would miss medical appointments—and then recommend that providers double-book the appointment slots for those patients. In this case, low-income patients are more likely to miss appointments, because they may struggle with transportation, childcare, and work schedules. "As a result of using this data within the AI tool, providers double-booked lower-income patients, causing longer wait times for lower-income patients and perpetuating the cycle of additional missed appointments for vulnerable patients." As such, it should be barred, the administration says.

most people want a quick and simple answer to why AI systems encode/exacerbate societal and historical bias/injustice and due to the reductive but common thinking of "bias in, bias out," the obvious culprit often is training data but this is not entirely true
