Shout out to a highly functional government agency--I forgot to sign my ballot.

King County Elections let me know and had a seamless process to remedy by sending in signatures via my mobile phone.

They did pass a resolution calling for a pact earlier in the month. It might have been an issue of being too soon to have the shared language.

2/2 in @calliefreitag.bsky.social's poster of her paper with Hanna Cho & me,"Disaggregating City-Level Minimum Wage Impacts: How Do Young Workers Fare?" we find 18-24yo workers saw hours but not earnings decrease after Seattle's $15 min wage. Conclusion: same $ for less work = a good thing.

Looking for good news? The Direct File program is now available to tax filers in 25 states.

Private tax prep companies have been ripping taxpayers off for years. Stop the greed by filing with IRS Direct File, a new free service to file taxes online directly with the IRS. Go to directfile.irs.gov.

Anyone else at #SSWR2025 sitting with the genius and power of Isabel Wilkerson's message and the juxtaposed security presence?

She's not safe.

RIP President Carter!

In 2007 my grandpa, Ben Romich Jr. (RIP as well), wanted to tell President Carter about my dad's collaboration between the Wayne County, OH Sustainable Energy Network and Habitat for Humanity chapter. I was his scribe.

Here's our letter with the kind response from "Jimmy C."

That's so cool! Congrats!

I literally have two more copies on my counter right now to give away to people who I haven't given them to in the last two years.
