Geopolitiek zeer goed nieuws: na aankondiging staakt-het-vuren direct verdere daling mondiale olieprijs, richting niveau van voor losbarsten conflict Israël-Iran (zie grafiek). Analisten verwachten nu terugkeer marktkrachten en verdere structurele daling. Slecht nieuws voor Poetin! 👍

Zodra de puur symbolische tegenaanval op Amerikaanse bases plaatsvond, schoot de olieprijs omlaag. Dat betekent nml géén blokkade Hormuz. Nu moet het verdere gedonder niet te lang duren (tenzij snelle regime change), want hij moet rap nog weer veel verder omlaag...

Heb me de afgelopen dagen weer verbaasd over de enorme invloed van luchtvochtigheid (en wellicht gebrek aan convectie?) op ijsvorming aan het oppervlak. Lokaal 3 à 4 ijsdagen op rij, maar pas toen vanochtend dan eindelijk de mist wegtrok -pats- in één klap al het water dicht...

BREAKING WEATHER: de recordlange periode zónder #ijsdag voor De Bilt (762 dagen als ik goed heb) is per vandaag, zie deze maxima, dan ein-de-lijk voorbij.

Reminder: it's 2 weeks since the ruble dropped below 0.01, that's a curve that means business!

Woop, there it is. The value of the #ruble (to dollar) now starts with 0.0091. That's another 2% drop in just 12 hours.

For those who like to eat popcorn you can now F5 the real-time collapse of the Russian economy. (Make sure to exercise, when the banks fall it's a lot of popcorn for months to go)

The 'magic trick' was selling a vast reserve of other stuff. First the dollars went, then the pounds, then the euro's. Now all that's left is yen & gold. But it doesn't work anymore.

Long for some GOOD news? Check the #ruble! Just 2 weeks ago, the Kremlin could no longer artificially keep it above 1 penny 👇 Since then, it seems in almost a free fall, reaching just 0.93 dollar cent today. Doesn't seem much? That's a 7% FURTHER devaluation of an entire monetary system. Big news.
