Due to the federal government shutdown, there is no updated CDC data to inform a Weather Report. COVID is still being transmitted around the country and everyone should continue to use their layers of protection: high-quality masks, get your updated boosters, testing before gathering,

I can’t believe I’m watching interviews of city mayors talking about how they are coordinating with other mayors to discuss how to protect their residents FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

I know we are “used to it” but it is absolutely insane

It's not too late to prioritize your long term health and the health of your community

Let’s be clear: Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans forced a government shutdown tonight.

Rather than address the health care crisis that they created just earlier this year, they refuse to come to the table and do their jobs.

What happened to the art of the deal?

Just to note. January 23, 2019 there was a vote to reopen government (HJ RES 28, roll call vote 46) when the govt had been shut down for 30 days.

Mike Johnson voted “no” on that.

They didn’t seem to mind shutdowns then

The kids are not alright.

They need the adults to do the right thing.

They need us to acknowledge the very real threat of Long Covid, and start taking steps to mitigate the risk.

We urgently need to adopt mandatory masking in healthcare, paid time off & clean air in public spaces:

As I told @newrepublic.com, "Once last week, twice today, ICE has picked me up and thrown me on the ground. Honestly, it doesn’t compare to what our neighbors who are trapped inside the Broadview processing facility are going through. They’re committing crimes against humanity there."

This def doesn’t undermine my sense that ICE will struggle to net 10,000 more officers in the years ahead.

The video of the woman driving off the guys at the car wash is impressive too.

And the sort of images that will make the job even less appealing for those who want to act like tough guys.
