This is a gallery of projects that we have seen online that are shown as inspirations for your own projects. Many of them are made with something other than the MakerPort, but all of them are things that could be made with the MakerPort, more easily and often with added features!

I've always loved the kalimba. My mom gave me one when I was about 10 years old; of course I still have it (and can play it) :) www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjRR...

This video shows how I used the MakerPort to add lights and music to some laser-cut village pieces. The MakerPort has a 1mb flashdrive, mp3 player and a nice built-in speaker.

"Switched On Bach" was my introduction to synthesizer music back when I was in college (yes, a long time ago). My next round was with an "Alpha Syntauri" on the Apple II (still a long time ago) :). youtu.be/RuT6Y53LYH4?...

Thought-provoking questions about "what is life?" The idea that mitochondria are still their own living things within each of our cells is amazing. www.asimov.press/p/mitochondria
Mitochondria Are Alive
The physical world is an intricate dance between matter, information, and energy. Recognizing that mitochondria are alive will open new horizons into how we learn about, and build with, biology.

youtu.be/2KWtD7pbc6w?... This lovely project is a folded paper model designed by Peggy Healy Stearns, created with FabMaker Studio from fablevision.bsky.social. The MakerPort added lights, sound effects & music. @microblocks.bsky.social was used to code the timing of the light & sound effects.

This STEM/STEAM project uses the MakerPort, @microblocks.bsky.social, the TCS3472 color sensor (about $4 on Amazon), and a 24-element neopixel ring. The color of the car changes based on the color of the card inserted. www.youtube.com/watch?v=75Tk...

"Solar Time" is pretty neat - when the sun crosses exactly due south, it's noon, and a magnifying glass will focus the sun's rays on a cannon to announce the moment! Just you and the sun and your cannon. That all changed on November 18, 1883. heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/november-1...

Just 2 years after this 1968 video, as a high school senior, I had my first experience with computers, "sneaking" into the computer terminal room at Orange Coast College with some classmates, one of whom had a car for the transport, and talking to the computer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwVu...

A quick tour of several MakerPort projects. If you're wondering why this video is from over a year ago and the MakerPort isn't yet for sale, it's because it's been almost 3 years in development. It turns out it takes a lot of time and work to make something simple. :) youtu.be/OiCuF7u-tE0?...
