The disguise is completed by chemical mimicry: the surface chemical hydrocarbons are identical to those of the termites. See the discovery and analyses published in @CurrentBiology Blow fly larvae socially integrate termite nests through morphological and chemical mimicry

The false eyes are the spiracles through which it breathes. The body is surrounded by “tentacles” that imitate the termite antennas, so that it can communicate with multiple termites simultaneously.
