Outrageous. This political maneuver is the latest in a coordinated, racially discriminatory attack on voting rights ordered by Donald Trump, orchestrated by Greg Abbott, and now supported from the bench by Justice Alito.

These maps should be thrown out, not upheld by SCOTUS.

No project, dollar, or deadline is worth a human life.

Today, Harris County took a historic step forward by passing our first unified Worksite Safety Policy, creating a system to protect every worker on County-funded construction projects.

I am thinking today of my friend, the great Reverend Jesse Jackson, a dear friend who has always stood up for those in need.

Please keep him and his family in heart as he continues to fight his condition today in the hospital.

He has always stood up for people, and I will always stand with him.

As we face cuts from the Trump Admin & revenue caps from the state, it's more critical than ever for Harris County to stand up for working people.
Thank you Rep.

Last week, Commissioners Court passed on considering a new revenue rate.

Trump and Abbott have tied the county's hands so they can undercut our services.

We must do everything we can this budget season to ensure our budget reflects the values and needs of the people of Harris County.

Proud to see Houstonians showing up to fight back against unjust redistricting and assaults on our right to vote.

Let it be known: when democracy is under attack, our community will stand up and fight back.

We must keep speaking out, working toward change, and ensuring that every voice is heard.

Honored to speak at the Marcus Netherly Scholarship 25 years ago.

Now in its 33rd year, I returned as the keynote speaker to honor Marcus, a 14-year-old victim of gun violence.

Gratitude to Mr. & Mrs. Netherly and Reverend Lernette P. Patterson for their commitment to our community and children.
