First version of Turing Learning (2013, that is, pre-GAN): dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/.... I would expect your approach to perform better. However it may not be used easily to tell if there is any prey in a given image.

Great example of co-evolutionary ML! You could also use Turing Learning proceedings.neurips.cc/paper_files/... link.springer.com/article/10.1.... Rather than estimating the position of prey the predator would be shown images (some with prey, others without), and asked to discriminate.
