Rebuild didn't connect with me at all, sadly. But the original... man, that was something else. Crazy to think it was 30 years ago (although I didn't watch until 2000). Like you, Eva is dead centre of all the things I love. It's also way past time I treated myself to the bluray.

Also, 猿も木から落ちる (さるもきからおちる) - long time fav, this one!
And lastly, 二兎を追う者は一兎をも得ず (にとをおうものはいっとをもえず) has served me well over the years.
