Yep-that was my point. Odds of him doing that are way higher than getting a bunt down. Either way, no one was covering second with both corners crashing so not sure why Nick wasn’t more than halfway there at point of contact.

Honestly, only disappointed in Schwarber. This is exactly how a game in June looks for the rest of the lineup.

Compare this to the postseason run in ‘22 (and a not so fun fact): Phils only had 2 wins that year with less than 4 runs and Nola and Wheeler pitched shutouts in those games. The starter in the only loss of that postseason when they scored more than 4 runs: Blake Snell

My 2 cents is the distributed sovereignty of the American system will probably be our saving grace. We are 50 States joined to create one national government - not One National Government that created 50 States. States have a lot of power to muck up the works.

Strahm inheriting runners, which he essentially didn’t do all year, falls into this category. Who cares how you do it, but you had the entire staff available to get 10 outs. Don’t forget, Ranger closed out SD in ‘22 post Bryce HR, which was game 6. he was slated to start game 7. Win today mentality

Given his age and knowing who the Euros were going to likely bring as VCs, PGAofA should've also forced Couples, DL3 or Stricker as lead VC. No offense to these guys, but watching Jose MO or Bjorn attach to a group had a way different feel than Kisner or Webb doing the same for US.
